Throughout the story, everyone from Kai and Tess, to extended family evolves in some way that makes them better people to each other and more confident in themselves. When it is time to go home a new set of dominos starts to play out. Can Kai be real? All of us women hope so. A tidbit that is not revealed to us readers till much later in the story, making the revelation that much more intriguing. Tess is less than thrilled since their first meeting left Tess in tears. One of those is meeting Kai, him and the hotel in Montauk are a package deal. A weird coincidence that happens only in well planned story telling comes about and sets new life events in motion. BUT someone who is always used to doing and doing, gets restless quick. Her vacation days are piling up, so she takes her furbaby to Montauk with her for a little Rest and Relaxation. But her boss has it out for her (wait till you find out why!!), and best friends who tell her over a good glass of wine that she deserves better. Though she isn't getting any younger she has a good life. A place to live, a mother to care for a job she enjoyed, a sister she could tolerate, and a decent enough boyfriend. If it involves self-improvement and romance, even better. Where she encourages others to follow their dreams in order to live their passion for achieving happiness, life satisfaction, and self-growth. A trip to Montauk changes all that when her dog gets chased down the beach causing her to meet the charming Kai, who also happens to be the frisky dog's owner. The Wishing Stone is a beach romance set on Long Island and tells the story of Tess, who seems to live life for everyone but herself.
